Keith and Karla at their home.

Keith and Karla first met at His Mansion in the nineties. Keith came as a Resident at nineteen feeling “lost for meaning and purpose.” Karla had arrived as a Servant Leader, deciding to pursue God fervently after breaking up with a long-term boyfriend who had drifted from the Lord. She went to His Mansion hoping that since God had “just wrecked my life” He would also fix it.

During his time in the Resident program, Keith was introduced to a true relationship with Jesus. This process brought him to, “love His goodness, grace, and compassion.” He experienced these things through the community and in the beautiful, natural surroundings that he saw every morning. Through His Mansion, Keith learned that his relationship with God influenced every areas of his life.

Meanwhile, Karla embraced the lessons that God was teaching her: that Christ uses our relationship with others to show us more of Himself. She learned that actively loving God comes by actively loving other the same way that Christ loves us.

Keith and Karla developed a relationship soon after finishing up at His Mansion while at the Growth Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, an extension of His Mansion. Now, after twenty-two years of marriage and five children, Keith and Karla both share the love of Christ in similar avenues; Keith as a pastor and Karla as a crisis counselor. Through experiencing the unending love of Christ in the His Mansion community, both have actively found ways to share that love with others.

Staff Spotlight: The Jones Family

This month we are highlighting some of the staff that keep this ministry running. Courtney Jones and his wife, Noelle, have faithfully served here for many years. Courtney came to the ministry as a Resident in 2009. Since then, he has served in almost every area including, Servant Leader, Counselor and Instructor, Director of Programs, and after a brief season away, he now serves as the Chief Operating Officer.

Noelle graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelors in Psychology and Christian Education, and a Masters in Christian Formation and Ministry. She joined the His Mansion staff in 2013 as a Counselor and Instructor for our women’s program, guiding them through their recovery. Currently, she is raising their three children, Owen, Lillian, and Simon as well as being a full-time student pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Raising a family at His Mansion provides many opportunities for serving. Courtney acts as our COO, managing the ins and outs of the ministry. Noelle continues to minister to the women in the community, through weekly Bible study and fellowship. Their children always bring joy to the Hill when joining for meals and fellowship. We’re thankful for the Jones’ family and their ministry here over the years.
