Servant Leadership: Krystel

This month’s newsletter we’re highlighting an interview with one of our Servant Leaders, Krystel. Krystel came to serve in 2020. Since completing her time here, she has been pursuing her certificate of Biblical Counseling through Word of Life Bible Institute. You can watch Krystel’s full interview on our YouTube channel

Why did you want to come to His Mansion?

I have always had a lot of compassion for people in addiction. Being able to tangibly see the need here through videos was a big part of my decision. The Lord used that emotional reaction to lead to something deeper—a true commitment to this place and a sure feeling that this is where the Lord wanted me next.

What are some of the highlights of being a Servant Leader?

I love the times when I can just connect with the girls on the heart level. When we can push past all the natural barriers that separate people and just connect as sisters in Christ; no matter our age, our background or what we’ve been through. We can just sit together and point each other back to Christ. Those conversations are some of the best.

How have you grown through the Servant Leader Program

I think that there have been different seasons of learning different things here. I remember times when the Lord was really drawing my attention toward His mercy. He was calling me to others in the same way I have been shown mercy; not only to the people here and my ministry here, but in my personal life. There was a time I was learning how to practice joy and rest in God’s sovereignty even during difficult times. I think that’s something that produces a lot of joy for me, because even when things are difficult the Lord is in control and I can trust that His plans are ultimately good.

Thank You to Our Partners

Since we’ve been sharing our partnership opportunities in our newsletter, the response has been overwhelming. Your generosity and support of our mission is astounding, and we’re so thankful that the Lord continues to provide for us.

Since we’ve expressed our needs, we’ve purchased a new log splitter in order for us to keep up with our wood processing needs. The Residents are very thankful to have updated equipment for work crew. We’ve also added some farm trucks that have enabled us to more efficiently complete work around the farm. Additionally, we’ve acquired a new sound system in the chapel which has enhanced our testimony and worship times.

We’re on track to replace our carpeting in both the Chapel and Griggs Dining Hall. Back in January, when we had pipes burst in multiple buildings, we were blessed by the support that came pouring in. Due to the water damage, we are getting ready to renovate our guest housing in the near future.

Thank you to everyone who has helped improve our equipment and facilities. The Lord never fails to provide for our needs and we couldn’t be more thankful for each person that chooses to support the work the He is doing here.

Prayer Requests and Updates

As the year continues, please be in prayer for our ministry. Here are some prayer requests and updates:

  • Prayers for both a Men’s and a Women’s Counselor for our recovery program, so we can accept more Residents.

  • Please pray with us as we look for a Director of Programs, that the Lord would bring just the right person to serve on staff.

  • We will have multiple recruiting efforts over the coming months. Please pray that the Lord would bring young adults to serve.

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer each month. Your prayers do not go unnoticed.

Partnership Opportunities

This season, we are working on making many facilities updates. Below is a list of the several partnership opportunities:

  • We would like to add a refreshment station to our dining hall to allow easier access to beverages for Residents, staff, and guests.

  • As we update our farm equipment, we are looking to replace our livestock trailer to more easily move our livestock.

  • We need to replace our walk-in freezer in order for our dining services to operate more efficiently.

  • We will need to add a new sander for our winter road maintenance on the property.

If you are interested in helping with these projects and needs, contact us by phone at 603- 464-5555 or by email at info@hismansion.com.
